Corp Dev to IB transition
Situation:
I have been recruiting for IB 2021 summer internships for the past 7 months but I am yet to receive an offer after applying to over 50 places and getting a handful of superdays. However, I have an offer to do a corp dev internship this upcoming summer with a Fortune 10 company. I had never heard of this company before I applied but I guess its size speaks for itself.
Question:
How difficult would it be to switch from corp dev into IB for full-time. The corp dev internship would be junior year and then I would ideally like to switch to a BB or EB for full time right out of college. Should I take this Corp Dev offer or would I be better off staying on the IB recruiting grind right now and interning at a small boutique bank this summer?
TLDR:
I want to work at a BB or EB in investment banking out of college. What is the best path to get there given that I have been rejected from every one this recruiting cycle.
