Don’t know why I got monkey shit. I work in CB, I think I know what I’m talking about
Not doubting you or anything. Just wondering why anyone from CB would want to come to IB then?
1.5x - 2.5x increase in hours, 3x - 4x increase in workload (and likely stress). For what? Such an immaterial bonus upside, especially post-tax.
because you're a prestige chasing rat maybe?
Probably because senior level bases salaries are 1.5-2x more, and max comp is much higher for senior peope
CB work can be extremely monotonous and less “sexy” than IB. Lot of pitching treasury products and bs admin work.
Comments above not entirely correct because it depends if it's a bank where CB is housed under IB or a separate unit...
OP here, I was referring to it being housed with IB. Are there some BB’s where it is housed separately?
As another commenter said. Can expect 20-40% bonus. This is obviously attached to salary, so associates might make $140-150 and VP might make 200. On the high end CB at CITI/JP can probably expect to make $400-500 Once you hit MD.
