Corporate Recruiting Timelines

Second year analyst with ~6 months to go until bonus hits and analyst stint ends. Started applying to corporate roles expecting some feet dragging with the recruiting process, but have found a handful are moving faster than initially anticipated. What are people's experiences with how far back they can push start dates -- if for example you receive an offer by early April, would mid-August be too late of a request? Should I only broach the subject of wanting a late summer start after I actually land an offer?
