Corzine

I know plenty of you other monkeys are pissed off at Corzine/MF Global's demise. I figured I'd create a thread to discuss it. The administration is obviously under crazy pressure to take action against one of their own.

Corzine was in line for Treasury Sec. (it was even mentioned in MFG's bond offering), raised crazy cash for Obama, and helped author some of the financial reform legislation. According to Biden, he was the admin's expert on the economy. The CFTC's Gensler can't even touch this because he's too close to dear old Jon.

So...Do you think his testimony is just the usual DC dog and pony show or is Jonnyboy going to spend some time in the Can, taking it in the can?

Anyone know who will be questioning Corzine? Would be interesting to see how far the Democrats are willing to go to protect one of their own and if the Republicans will play along.

Would love to see Sheila Jackson-Lee fall on her ass again. Love her train of thought.

I love the youtube comment.

waterloomonkeyi can't figure out what crime he committed stupid yes criminal no.

He oversaw a company that comingled and then "lost" up to $1.2B in customer funds. I believe my back office expertise qualifies me to give this opinion- you aren't supposed to do that.

^ LOL

It's not an opinion, it's the way it is: borrowing/taking client account money is a big nono. Think of it this way: if the branch manager pulled money out of your bank account to buy lottery tickets and then didn't win, what do you think would happen? Now imagine hundreds of millions of dollars of borrowed client money...as the law stands, Corzine and MFG are in some serious shit.

If he'd made money, I'm don't know if anyone would give him too much shit, but at this point it looks like he took OPM without asking and then lost it.
