Cover letter mishap

So I got a 1st round BB interview, but when I applied, I wrote down on my cover letter that I was writing an academic paper for a competition. But between coursework and a job, my research wasn't as thorough as I'd like it to be. I'm a little worried that this could adversely affect my interview. Am I overreacting?

stop wetting your pants, I doubt the interviewer knows half of what you're writing about. plus cover letters are briefly read, you not writing a good academic paper will not affect the interview.

shouldnt really matter...and yes you are definitely overreacting....most of PJchiang's comments are over the top but you really deserved it this time for something so minor
