Coworker Roommate?

Hey, was hoping to get thoughts from people on living with a co-worker. Myself and another student from my school were both hired FT at the same firm. We're not best friends at school but have had some friends and classes in common, so I don't really have concerns that they would be messy or discourteous or anything like that.

Has anyone had experience with something like this, either positive or negative? My initial thoughts are that it could definitely work (similar schedules, common interests and background, etc) but I imagine there could be drawbacks as well.

Depends on how close this guy actually sits next to you in the office. If he's in your face for 15 hrs a day, then I agree its probably a bad idea to move in together. However, if this is a large firm you're working for, and he's doing something else, it might not be the worst idea for the reasons you mentioned above. If you're quite serious about this, speak to his current roommates to get a feel for how the person might be to room with (which often can be drastically different from him just hanging out with you), and if things seem to be ok, bring up the topic with him casually. In a new city, it might be very helpful to move in with osmeone whose coming in from the same background as you. All I'm saying is - don't rule out the option completely.
