It really depends on the kinds of groups you are targeting. Referring to league tables by geographic might help here - even if it's to get a feel for product strong suits. My sense is that both CS and Barc have spotty records in Europe with regard to M&A and ECM but Barc clearly wins out in the DCM (IG/HY) category. Take culture into consideration as well.
