Critique my process

I feel confuse at times during this process of one day hopefully breaking into a FO job in finance. The reason for my post is just to ask for general advice, and to get some feedback on how I'm approaching getting internships. I'm a current junior from a CC going to a non-target next semester, my GPA is a 3.8 and I will most likely extend my graduation by transferring to a target school. When I first started looking for 2019 SA positions I started on late may, at the time I didn't realized that I had missed most of the diversity programs whose deadlines where spring. I started by first doing a lot of research, I probably spent hours and hours in these forums just reading, trying to absorb the material and tips that I found all around. I then moved on to applying to every SA position available in IB, Corporate banking, Private equity, Asset management, Wealth management as well as some advising internships. I used the thread that listed all the firms currently recruiting and made sure to applied to all that had openings, I skimmed lists of boutiques. MM and remaining BB. applying to all the open positions. My networking has been lacking, I have managed to get in contact with some people from my alumni network and currently in the process of talking to some other people in IB that were recommended to me by one of my alumni that currently works in Consumer Banking. The rest of my time I been adding contacts to an excel sheet so I can start cold mailing, so far I have around 200 contacts that I concluded would give me the best chance of getting a response and making a connection with. I'm a bit nervous that I might not land a decent gig for next summer, which drives me to work even harder during this summer recruiting. What other internships should I be looking at that will transfer towards IB? Is it too late already to land a decent gig? Are my chances really that slim due to my school? What other type of banks should I be looking at? If it helps I'm a minority, first generation, single mother, and with a story to tell that helps in personal interviews. I'm yet to start preparing for interviews, but plan on purchasing the WSO guide for interviews and other guides to help me learn financial modeling. Please critique my process. P.S I know this might be a extreme reach, but if there is anyone interested in mentoring me I would extremely appreciate it, I'm not looking for you to push my resume, but more for someone I can shoot a message to whenever I have a question.

When are you graduating?

Most target schools force transfers to stay for 2 years, some even longer if your credits don't all transfer (CC->nontarget->target you will probably lose a lot of credits). How non target is your school for next semester, could you do 3 years there (so 5 years total, assuming you aren't ending junior year saying you're a current junior) and then apply to diversity programs next spring as a "sophomore" as odd as that sounds.

It is pretty late to just be getting going on networking/applying/figuring it out if you're class of 2020 (especially being at a CC right now) but you are fine if you can somehow delay until dec 2020/spring 2021. I would spend the next year utilizing your excel sheet, reaching out to people, diversity programs, and you should have a decent shot. Keep the GPA up at your new school too.
