CS Sponsors - Head of Sponsors M&A leaves for Barclays - Who are the hitters?
Just read the following in WSJ street moves:
"BARCLAYS PLC (London) -- Jeff Porphy was named head of idea generation and transaction development for U.S. leveraged finance at Barclays Capital, the investment banking arm of this bank, effective immediately. The post, based in New York, is new. Mr. Porphy, 40 years old, was a managing director, head of financial sponsors M&A and co-head of middle market M&A for Credit Suisse Group."
So the head of financial sponsors M&A at CS just decamped for Barclays. This just made me curious about who the heavy hitters in CS sponsors are. Anyone know? And does anyone know where CS pulled them from?
This post has nothing to do with trashing CS or CS Sponsors. I'm just curious about who the real hitters are in that group.
Added to the question above, does this move Barclays up in the ranks?
Porphy was in M&A -- heads of Sponsors are Bogle (global), and Yorke (US), both based in NY. Sponsors team is intact.
