CS Toronto
Please ignore my title. What will happen to CS Toronto? Both CS and UBS had small presence in Toronto, what does the acquisition mean for current and future headcount of the combined office

CS Toronto was already a satellite office doing a few slides for the NYC team before, so I'd be really worried if I was in the Toronto office..Heard they were a bunch of jerks tho culturally so don't feel too bad
Kindly expand what sucked about CS' Toronto culture if you'd be so kind.
A bunch of socially awkward dorks who think they’re better than everyone
Have worked directly with them in the past on multiple files and can confirm.
Everyone’s a dick lmfao
If UBS wants to cut a significant chunk of CS IB I'd imagine the satelite offices would be on the chopping block
Bunch of people got fired. Office is a shell now with a few employees on live engagements. Almost definitely will be closing down
Where are those who got fired including MDs will be going ? Do you know?
Any insight on how the juniors were affected (relative to seniors) i.e., cuts equal at all levels or outsized at senior/junior level
From what I understand, there was a slash and burn in the past and the office is basically a lean satellite. If my money was on which of the offices is going to be slashed and burned, I'd bet on CS.
Hadn't a lot of folks from national bank of Canada moved to CS Toronto within the past year or so? I wonder what happened to them
As you can imagine, lot of inbounds from CS Canada folk in the last couple of days. Would not be surprised if that cohort was in there.
CS Toronto IBD already cut heavily a few weeks ago (pre UBS announcement) across MD through associate - Analysts were not touched. I think it was like 6-8 bankers in total let go
It's a skeleton crew now and further layoffs / departures are inevitable
Didn't they only do cleantech and diversified industries out of CS's Toronto office?
