Dartmouth Ghosting U.K.
Anyone have experience with recruiting PE roles with them in the U.K.? Do they just ghost you despite making past 4/5 rounds with a firm but supposedly didn't make it after? Just wanted to be sure I need to mentally just move on as I haven't heard back after techncial test? For a couple of other simultaneous processes that I didn't make I got feedback but it's odd that they are ghosting the one that I got the furthest with. Thanks for the help!
Yes, ghosting from them is very common. Don’t take it personally they just suck to deal with
Dartmouth are very unprofessional to deal with. Wouldn't read into it too much, they could end up popping up at some point with feedback.
Thanks both, maybe I will just move on
Side question - is reapplying a thing? Let’s say I have these contacts now and I just go back in a couple of years (think I might have recruited but early on and could benefit for a bit more tenure) - is that a thing?
Our fund recently shifted from Dartmouth to another recruiting agency, so don't take it personally. We were lead to a number of candidates who were from top banks but just not qualified enough (i.e. 1-2 years of experience in unrelated sectors) even though we stated we wanted 3+ years in a specific industry, and were happier with a mix of IBD exp. Recruiter I came into contact with acted as he knew more about my role than me and kept insisting he's done alot of work in our specific niche. Kind of annoying and unprofessional
Yes, they’re an absolute shitshow, know someone who was ghosted for over a month and when another person reneged they eventually got back. The person had moved along in other processes so declined to participate; apparently they’re now blacklisted
Intersting colour - is this more to do with the firm that hired HHs or the HHs? I can imagine why it makes sense for all the MFs to do this when they have endless people to choose from and want to pick the best at all times without losing other potential candidates that could sub in
Tbh with you I’m not 100% sure on whether they’re actually blacklisted (and whether it’s by the fund or Dartmouth, don’t really care and having had to deal with the bs neither does the guy).
