DCM Salary

I have only been able to find outdated information but what is the current average salary and bonus for someone in DCM? Does it compare to coverage/product groups? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

DCM doesn't model (no need) because IG debt prices more or less to current trading spread. You literally build pitch books with automated comp tables. There is no value add because everyone offers the same service. Who gets the deal is more or less determined by your senior originator's relationship and your bank's commitment to respective IG cos. Most DCM bankers love it because work-life balance is awesome while pay is still pretty decent.

Sure, there can be one-off stars that pull crazy internal moves to M&A and Lev Fin. However, there is no way what you do in DCM transfers to any of these "very common" exits that you listed. Credit Hedge Funds, PE, and Equity Research are doable from DCM with effort? What you are saying is so far removed from reality. Just because you saw one dude made the move on LinkedIn doesn't mean that is "Very common".

It would be great if you stop spreading BS info. You literally are not even a year into a full-time job.

Alright,  Maybe at your bank. But at our bank we definitely have Debt service/structuring models that feed into the the companies strategy.  Maybe you should work at a better bank?

Very Common.  If someone exits DCM, This is typically where they go (didn't list B-school because this is a different game all together).  I have seen or meet people that have done all the following exits. I don't think any one should just blindly assume that a career gets easier the longer you are in it.  AKA, you still need to recruit and network to get anywhere in High Finance.  It's not like you land at DCM and then credit funds are just going to hand out offers like candy.

Also, If people exit DCM its not like they just drop off the face of the earth. They go somewhere.  Rather than just shitting on the forum maybe you could provide additional data points to help people.

Ahh yes, because a WSO title is 100% accurate.  I guess I should update that.  Best of luck too you  and getting out of the pigeon hole in Sales and Fading.
