declaring residency nyc

Hi, working at a NYC BB. Do I have to declare residency and change my drivers license? What about for taxes?

I could potentially keep my parents home on my drivers license, but I suspect that at least on the IRS forms I need to put NYC as my home. Is that right? (I assume there's no way around the high NYC taxes.)

Thanks for the help.
