Delayed Graduation Date --> Recruiting for 2nd SA at a different bank?

I'm an incoming SA22 and just found out I will need to take off my next semester of school (which will put me on a Dec 23 grad date) for personal/family reasons.

I have yet to tell my SA22 bank about this situation: would it be ok to recruit for SA23 with a different (and potentially better) bank? Could I just do another SA at the same bank (this seems it might be unusual)?

If my current bank found out, what might be the consequences? This isn't technically reneging, but it would basically mean that I wouldn't be giving them a shot to convert me full-time after the summer.
