This is sort of vague. Correspondent banking generally refers to services a domestic bank will provide to a foreign bank for the foreign bank's customers. Do you have a job description for what you are looking at?
It doesn't have to be banking services for foreign banks, it's for banks in general.
Essentially, you'd work in credit, lending or other services for a bank that provides financial services to other banks.

Pay is probably in line with other commercial banking activities.
In my case it is definitely services for foreign banks. How is this perceived generally and where can I go from here seeing as this is a summer position? Is this a Front Office Position?

What exactly will you be doing? Correspondent Banking is quite broad.
