It doesn’t matter because you aren’t getting to the top unless you absolutely love the asset class. Lean into whatever you love and the money follows.

On the absolute high end, VC partner probably assuming they actually make a knockout investment (ie 10-20x) since there's usually a few partners who can end up sharing a $500M-1B carry pool without a lot of overhead. But its very rare to do that so HF PM I guess
If you look at who earns the most in finance... the top group are always PMs of HFs that had a rockstar year - they can make billions...

Yeah but these people founded the hedge fund they work in like ken griffin, i am talking about non-founding people, who can make 8-9 figs when they are under 40s, when they are good ofc.
People under 40 found their own hedge funds all the time. It is the move if you are succesful in that line of work.
