Career Resources
Based on previous WSO threads, here are some insights on transitioning from Investment Banking (IB) to a family business:

Networking and Professionalism:
Alternative Perspectives:
Long-Term Considerations:
In summary, working in IB can provide you with a strong foundation of skills and experiences that are highly transferable to running and scaling a family business. However, it's also important to weigh the benefits of gaining direct operational experience and mentorship from your father. Balancing these factors will help you make an informed decision about your career path.

Bump
IB doesn't teach you to be an operator.
Try to join a competing company that's larger than your father's. Work there for 2-3 years and be a sponge. Hopefully you'll get some senior management / C-suite exposure if you get the right role. Compare and contrast what both companies do. Then bring that knowledge to the company when you do jump to the family business.
