Deloitte M&A Shanghai Interview

Hi everyone, i'm very new here and this is my first post so bare with me.

This coming monday i have an interview with Deloitte M&A group in shanghai for a 4 months co-op summer associate position. I am currently a 3rd year undergrad in a top Canadian university.

My questions are as follow:

  • Has anyone worked for Deloitte M&A (in particular the shanghai division)? How was the experience? What kind of work should I be expecting?
  • What are the typical questions this kind of interview would consist of?
  • How's the salary/ benefits (would there be any relocation reimbursement?)

Thanks in advance for any useful information anyone can provide!

If this job is from Waterloo, then you can quote me on it. You need to be able to write and speak technical terms in Chinese, the pay is about $2/day, don't pay any travel or living expenses. The work you do is boring, hours are about ~70 a week.

did you know someone that did this for co-op? when you say the work is boring, what kind of work are you talking about? I don't mind the low pay if the job is a very rewarding learning experience.

I don't know about the division you are interviewing for specifically, but big 4 audit pay in China is way lower than in the US (I've heard 6k-7k RMB/month at entry levels.).

Yup, know a few who did it before. Boring as in repetitive, and from what I remember, the only transferable skills you get out of it for IB is experiencing the long hours. If you have nothing else on the plate then definitely go for it, btw in the interview they will ask you if you're comfortable with Chinese, then speak to you in Chinese.
