Deloitte Shanghai
New to WSO but I just wanted to see if anyone have answers for my situation.
I recently got a job in Deloitte Shanghai (through family connections) and was wondering if I should take it. I'm an ABC but my mandarin isn't fluent (I can hold conversations but I can't read large business documents). I am wondering if this would be a huge hindrance for me going into the internship this summer. I really want to take on the opportunity and also improve my mandarin but I am wondering if anyone in Deloitte Shanghai have any advice.
I had some ABC friends from HYPS who interned at Deloitte Shanghai the summer after their freshman years. They said their experiences was okay, not great. They remember that one of the managers was absolutely cruel.
If you're not doing anything else this summer, I say go for it. It's better than the alternative of doing nothing.
