Deutsche Bank - Post Restructuring - IBD NY - [Serious]
Hi everyone, I've been a big lurker on this site for years so I wanted to thank you all for helping me understand the recruiting process for positions in investment banking. Before I get to my question, I plead that you keep your responses serious, because I know DB has been a target for finance memes for like 2 years now.
Since it seems like Deutsche Bank has begun its restructuring process, leaving its traditional investment banking advisory practice in NY intact, would taking a SA or FT position there be a poor decision? I would say that I am very interested in jumping to a private equity associate role after spending a year FT. I have seen people make the jump to PE from DB over the past few years by looking on LinkedIn. Would headhunters find it a less-attractive place to come from now?
Everyone knows DB is a meme. But seriously, i have some friends working there who are doing well, just get into a good group with deal flow and you will be fine.
Do you know their best groups? Where would you look for that sort of information generally?
Thanks
