Yes, DB didn't take any aid, from the US or Germany. There was a piece in the FT a few days ago about their traders bitching that their bonuses should be significantly larger, to reflect that fact.

With regard to DB, in 2008 they sold 40m shares in a private placement and converted 4 of their subordinated bonds issued in '07, '08 in order to raise capital.
