Did not land IB SA: Is MM Banking at a top bank > IB possible?

I just wanted to know what the chances are of moving to either corp banking(more realistic) or IB from a top 3 commercial banking program. Is it more likely to be an internal move? When should I start actively seeking out movement for full time roles?

It is entirely possible that I enjoy the MM Banking space while interning over summer, but as of now IB is my goal. I currently go to a non-target and have a decent GPA around 3.4 and relevant internships, with this SA role being the most relevant. Any advice is appreciated.

You still have a chance. Don't forget there is still FT recruiting in later summer/early fall for IB.

Kill your SA program and leverage the return offer when interviewing for FT roles. I had similar experience and still obtained interviews even though my SA internship was not in IB. Learn as much as you can and prep more during your off time.

Good luck.
