Disinterested Boss for SA

I'm a junior SA. My direct boss/manager does not seem interested in what I am doing most of the time and I basically get all of my work from the junior analysts and analysts from another satellite office.

The group is pretty small (under 10 ppl) and I pretty much only have contact with 4 or 5 of them who are all junior analysts. My question is should I be concerned about how distant my direct boss has been with me so far or is this common? In my past internships my managers have been the ones giving me assignments and mentoring me, but this does not seem to be the case here, rather the junior analysts have taken that role. It's odd because he isn't that busy the majority of the time.

Of course I want to receive a FT offer, so any advice on how I should approach the situation? I feel like my direct manager would have a lot of input on how I did at the end of the summer when they review me, but at the same time he doesn't check my work and only has a basic understanding of what I am doing most of the time.

Thanks in advance.
