Their M&A model is closing tons and tons of very small deals for community banks. Had a friend who worked at KBW in IBD pre stifel acq. (basically the same thing) and he hated it AND said that he barely ever modeled, so don't think just because it's "FIG" that you're going to have interesting valuation assignments.
That said, Sandler is going to see a flood of business over the next 5-10 years. If you're looking to be a career banker this is a solid place to start.
Have they started FT recruiting? I know two guys who work their, and they said late October/early November.
