Do ECM/DCM analysts do full time training with IB or Sales and Trading?

Do Ecm/ Dcm analysts do traditional financial valuation/modeling training with other IB analysts over the summer or is it with the markets division even if ECM/DCM is housed under IB?

At my bank we went through the regular IB training. But the first few weeks of training before exams also included excel training, firm best practices (relevant for ecm/dcm), senior members of the bank speaking, and a big case study. While case study was M&A focused and the topic wasn’t relevant to me in ecm, the putting together slides, using factset/capiq, and crafting a better story and getting feedback from senior members of the bank on our presentation etc. Also, I personally think one of the most important parts of training is getting to know your analyst class and I work very closely with my coverage peers compared to s&t where there’s the Chinese wall. You don’t learn much during training, most of it is once you’re on the desk.
