Do Forage Virtual Internships (JPM/Citi) Carry Any Weight in India? High School Student Curious About ROI

Hey I’m 17, currently in high school in India. Planning to do my undergrad here (most likely BBA or Law), and eventually pursue an MBA down the line either IIMs/t-10 biz schools in India or something abroad depending on where things go.

Long-term goal is to break into high finance in India IB, PE, maybe hedge funds eventually. I know the landscape’s hyper-competitive here, especially with so many top-tier MBA grads gunning for the same roles. I’ve done a few of the virtual internships on Forage (JPM, Citi, HSBC) took them seriously, actually worked through the modules instead of clicking through. But now I’m wondering: Do these carry any weight when it comes to Indian firms? Or is this just a “hardo” move that looks like resume fluff to anyone serious in the industry? I get that they’re not selective, so I'm not expecting them to be treated like a real internship but at this early stage (before I have actual internships or proper deal exposure), do they show initiative in a meaningful way? Or is my time better spent learning Excel, building modeling skills, doing personal projects and soft skills. Would really appreciate thoughts from anyone who’s broken in via an Indian undergrad route or is in IB/PE here and has seen what actually stands out.

Thanks in advance.
