Do IBs understand if you have a low GPA because you failed a class that you're going to retake next semester?

Just the title is my question.

I got a low grade in one class due to some personal reasons and it heavily affected my GPA for that school since I don't have many credits yet built. The problem is now that I'm recruiting I'm not sure how to approach that even if I retake it and pass with a high grade.

I want to leave the GPA off till I retake the class but many apps ask for it.

I mean how bad are we talking man? Yes an investment bank will care if you don’t list it and it’s below like 3.3. You are a student first, so they will grill you on your gpa if it’s below that.
