Do the EBs actually get paid more?
I have offers at the top BBs (not going to specify), EBs, and a few middle markets. Which would pay the most I'm greedy lol

Yes, elite boutiques in general do seem to make more but it depends on the shop. This is all discussed on other threads but like FTP and Q pay above BB
EB
Yes. Even if bases are similar, good analysts get much more due to larger percent based bonuses
Yes but you’re going to be working more and have less of a brand name, if you leave finance after. On average, I absolutely work signifigantly less at a BB than my friends at EBs.
Also keep in mind that the marginal dollars earned are taxed at a higher rate, so my friends might be pulling in $40-$50k more than me at an EB, but that’s like $20-$30k after tax.
Boutiques still have name brand in relevant roles outside of “high finance.” Corp Dev or financial roles at large techs firms will still know who they are. Maybe not every employee, but the people hiring will know.
