Do Wells and BAML in Charlotte pay the same as BBs in NYC?

From what I heard it's pretty much the same at the junior levels. Does the gap widen with upward progression?

May be wrong, but I remember seeing someone on here say that BAML Charlotte doesn't take analysts anymore

BAML does OCR at my school. Mostly for NYC, but some Charlotte too. From what I understand, they have a LevFin group in Charlotte that's an offshoot of a larger one in NYC. They might expand their IB presence in Charlotte, but nobody knows for sure. Last year, someone there told me that they might try to start an MM IB group or a regional coverage group there; however, my source wasn't certain then, and I haven't asked about it recently. For now it's just LevFin, and they definitely are taking analysts.

I don't think its any less competitive than NYC though unless you go to like Duke/UNC.
