Does anybody here go to therapy?
As the title suggests, I am curious how many people here go to therapy? In a mentally exhausting field like IB does anybody go to therapy to help support their mental health? How do you find the time to do it? For those that do/have gone, what have you learned most about yourself and has it changed your view on IB? For those that do not go, why?
No but I probably should
Fuckin same dude
Same
My firm offers counseling and there's not No value but I can't say it was life changing. The counselor had a few good points but I think its just as useful as talking to an insightful friend. At the end of the day, you still gotta be the one to make your life changes to get to a point of happiness.
^ This. Have been to therapy in the past and have the exact same perspective. I almost feel like I could have achieved what I did in therapy without having to go, but talking things through was nice. Everything that changed/improved my life was a result largely if not entirely of my own doing independently
Have seen many over several years. I hated it, and will never do so again.
Adderall to stay up and happy, Xanax to go to bed. That’s my therapy; although, I might be significantly shortening my lifespan, but in the meantime, fuck it we ball
My college cocktail. Try to get off the latter my friend
Fuck it, we ball.
All the monkey shit? This generation of bankers has gotten soft. This was child play back in the day. But it's important to be careful when mixing uppers and downers (or not do it at all)
I opt to take melatonin gummies and maybe a Red Bull if I’m feeling bold.
Yes, seeing a therapist has been crucial to helping me get through my own issues with depression and general day-to-day stressors. Can’t recommend it enough as a routine.
That said, took me almost a year to find somebody whose opinion and expertise I trusted in addition to jiving with them— if your therapist doesn’t pass the airport test, it’s probably not going to be productive.
Yes since day 1. In addition to having a mentor and a peer who I am close to in every bank I was at. It is absolutely crucial for your own sanity
