Does group matter if exiting to corp dev?

I received an offer from a BB for 2024 SA and will undergo group placement soon. I am not interested in the traditional PE/HF route and instead want to pursue corp dev/corp fin/startup/asset management of the sort after my two years.

Will the group I get placed in materially affect my recruiting chances at any of those careers? Would it be smart to choose coverage groups that align with my exits (ie - choosing tech group if I want to end up at Google) or general product groups to have a range of skillsets/deals in my resume?
