Does the company/deal you're working on make a difference to you?

For the bankers, have you found that working on a deal for a company/industry you really are interested in to be much more enjoyable than working on one that you couldn't care less about?

I suppose the answer is obviously yes. But does it make that big of a difference in terms of you being motivated/less upset about having to work on the model at 2:00 a.m. on a Saturday? Does it not really matter to you over time because spreading comps, pulling 10-k figures, etc. is the same whether it's TMT, Healthcare, Energy, etc.?

for pitches, no (it's all execute quickly... couldn't even tell you what most of the companies I've worked on really do). for deals, absolutely.
