Does Trading have a future?

Does trading have a future lets say in a decade? Either BB or HF trading, will it be worth it going in the field and will the bonuses be as high (given that you are good at it)?

I know trading equities has been in low profit for a while but what about other derivatives, will they be worth trading at a BB or a HF in a couple of years and later?

Yes, there is a future for trading, but it depends where in the world, products, and industry. A lot of clients actually like talking to a sales trader to get things done, and communicate options, instead of having it being printed on an excel sheet. Will it be alot more automated in the future, yes, will you get a pay cut, most likely, but so will most of financial services as everything gets automated. For now, if you like the idea of doing it just apply first, you might not even get an offer, then decide.
