“Don’t tell people you work in IB/PE”
It’s hilarious the main crux of the rational for not telling people is that folks outside of finance “don’t care what you do and don’t understand it”. I totally agree and I think people in the industry are even less impressed it. As someone who’s in banking, really not that impressed if someone tells me they work in investment banking.

Why is there a narrative that it’s impossible to say you work in IB without coming off as braggy? You’re just saying what you do with a small touch of detail.
