Dropping major in favor of GMAT study program

I recently accepted a MM IB position starting in the summer. My resume states double majoring in finance and management information systems, but I have recently considered taking part in a GMAT program my school provides instead of finishing my MIS degree. Would this be look down upon at my new position? I plan on notifying HR of the change in my circumstances to ensure a red flag does not appear during the background check.

Seems like a waste at this point to not get the MIS degree. GMAT is probably easier learned through self study anyways.
