Do most middle market banks drug test FT hires? When are they tested? When they accept or right before they start? Do they use hair or urine? I know one person who said hair. Thanks!

Unbeknownst to you, you've actually already been drug tested. Most banks either steal the pee from the urinal you peed in, or if you didn't have the urge to receive yourself during your interveiw time, grab a hair from your head as you shake their hand to leave. Assuming you're asking this question because you partake in the illicit smoking of the drugs, you're dead on arrival. First day your gonna walk in and theres gonna be a policewoman officer with handcuffs ready to arrest you. RIP in peace JJ106, it was nice knowing you.
Instead of drug testing, most do a cavity search.
I have been employed at 6 different firms throughout my life, and each one has tested me 1-2 weeks before starting. Hope that helps.

Are you sure?/Is that standard for most MM banks? I don’t do anything frequently I’m just afraid if there is a hair test it’ll pick up on something months old.
Shave your head now then don't do drugs before you start FT? lol fwiw the MM bank where i was an analyst didn't drug test, but the bank where i interned did drug test (pee).
Wasn't tested before both SA and FT at Piper. Dunno if that's the norm for most MM or not.
I interned at a MM IB and signed FT with a separate MM IB. I had a piss test with both. I don't know if this makes a difference but both have a B/S and big commercial sides.
The one tested the SA hires in the spring around Feb-March before the internship. For the FT position I got tested recently, about a month after I signed my offer. Hope this helps!
