Dying Breed?
"And the sales people you describe as going out to dinner every night with their buyside buddies are a dying breed. That type of work only happens on flow desks, which are at the dying end of the business."
Found this post while doing a search. What exactly does he mean by flow sales is "the dying end of the business"? Anyone care to explain.
Must have been a really old post ... flow desks were printing money in 09 and Q1 10. Which post did you link it from? I think that's far from true.
It is really old, from '07.

Looks like the guy is in commodity sales so I thought he would know what he's talking about. I was going to message him but doesn't look like he's active on this site anymore. Anyone in sales have anything to say?
It's definitely true, but as my former boss used to say, "In the 90's we were really really overpaid, then we were really overpaid, now we're just overpaid".
