Dyson worth 30k more than Tepper?
I'm currently finishing my freshman year in Tepper at CMU and last week I received my acceptance to AEM major at Cornell Dyson.
Transferring to Cornell will cost me 30k more than if I stay in CMU; Cornell will cost me 60k for remaining three years and CMU will cost me 30k for remaining 3 years. I live in NYC so bringing back a cornell AEM degree would certainly help me.
My career goals and aspirations? I've been thinking of: IB, S&T, operations management, or maybe financial consulting. I plan to double major in Biometry (applied math/stats) if i transfer to cornell, and at CMU double major in statistics
I need advice deciding whether Cornell' AEM degree is worth 30k more total than CMU Tepper in the long run.

At first I read this and was like who tf if Dyson and why does is even matter if he is worth $30k more than David Tepper?
$30k is nothing in the long run though don't make your decision based on money.
I understand that 30k seems minuscule for a degree that will leverage my career, but it still is money though and I hope some of you seasoned users can give me your thoughts/reasons why Cornell is worth more. CMU will cost me 40k total and Cornell 70k.
But is Dyson better for recruiting/placement on the street? and what other opportunities can dyson open up like for ib, s&t, PE, VC?

I don't know much about tepper or cornell so I can't help much.
I've looked at Cornell numbers, which are reliable. Tepper's undergrad career stats are ambiguous because only half the class reported explicit salaries while Cornell had a vast majority, 90%, of its undergrads report salaries. Cornell and Tepper's salaries on their career pages are the same, 70k, but Teppers' ambiguous.
It also seems like Cornell has more finance-y job titles and such. Are you familiar with Cornell's street presence compared to CMU's off the top of your head?

It's worth doing that LinkedIn search he mentioned - I did the same when I was choosing schools. You basically pull up a university, go to alumni, filter to either recent alumni or whatever, and filter to what 'field' the alum are in - click on financial services, etc. I personally would transfer to Cornell, I know a few people there and I would say its normal the financial aid isnt that good.
Cornell senior (not Dyson) here. AEM is very much worth it IMO comparatively. Many many opportunities for everything ranging from IB to S&T to PE/VC/ER. many alumni are very proud Cornellians and love giving back (ie recruiting) from the school. especially if you're networking inclined, having the massive base is very helpful, along with relatively easy commuting to and from nyc via buses / an easy 4 hr drive.
