ECM exit opportunities?
Currently a senior ECM Associate probably going to become VP in the summer (ignore my title I just can't be bothered to update it).
However, I really hate my job, one thing that surprised me with ECM is how much documentation, process, legal and regulatory work there is. It's all we do. I've developed no skills around business, all I do is spend my time reading the various regulatory rules for IPOs and working with lawyers on prospectuses etc.
I can't move into PE/HF as I have no modelling experience, I can't move into Corp Dev as I have no M&A experience, I have no idea what I can move into that still pays well. Any thoughts? Thanks.
Ex-ECM colleagues have moved into IR with many focused on fundraising. Coolest exits IMO have been into growth stage companies where they are basically hunting Series B/C/D capital. Take equity and make bank watching that shit tier up at every round.
IR seems extremely underrated on this forum. Decent hours for great money.
