Economist: GS has worst WLB behind only SpaceX and… Geico?

Only had a rough look but The Economist has put out a resource ( https://www.economist.com/interactive/business/2025/06/16/corporate-culture ) modelling various employee-reported company characteristics across seemingly the 900 companies with the largest Glassdoor datasets (and approximately by extension the 900 largest in US/EU).

It’s a bit of interesting reading more than anything else. Not massively surprised by GS but to only just be out-‘performed’ by Elon’s dedicated rocket scientist torture factory is wild.

And I checked, where higher is better: UBS is mid-low agility (eh), mid-high leadership (!?), mid-high toxic culture, and mid-mid WLB (shout out SF for pumping those stats).

Fuck knows what they’re doing over at Geico.

UBS SF works non-IB hours for IB pay (50-60 hours at the junior level on average), kind of shocked it's mid-mid and not even better, probably dragged down by a few groups like M&T, HC, M&A, LevFin, and Industrials working actual IB hours. Then again, they probably also help drag the toxic leadership up and the leadership down, so it evens out.
