Energy (Oil, Alt) in Houston

Hello WSO,

I see myself settling down in Texas, specifically H-town. Right now I'm a year out from graduating from Florida State and depending on where I'm accepted, might attend a university in Texas for my MSF. I just had a couple questions for you all:

  1. The energy sector. Is it as profitable as work in NY? Is it here to stay? Is it something that's worth focusing on?

  2. Texas job market. How is IB, PE in Texas? Any potential exit opportunities in New York, Chicago or surrounding states?

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Also, if you have any criticism of my plan, let it rip.
