I have a friend that works in engineering with 4 YoE that is looking to transition to IB. They work in a more consulting type engineering position where they advise clients on projects vs. actually building stuff.. how hard would a direct transition to IB, Consulting, or other areas of finance like asset management be? Could any of those be direct transfers to a level aside from AN1 without going through an MBA?
