equities research comp gone down?
Hi there,
A friend of mine recently got an offer in research with one of the BB banks hit hard by the subprime markets (so yeah, think Citi, ML). His offer (base+expected bonus) is lower than 100k. Does that sound normal? I'm not sure about how comp is like in equities research, but I thought it would be not too much lower than IBD at the junior level. Thanks.
Nope, the gap is probably decreasing due to the state of the IBD market (depends though on desk). My ER bonus is going to go up.
