Equity Research at a BB to Investment Banking

Hi, I am at a UK target and received an offer for an Equity Research Summer Internship at a BB in London. I applied to ER in some places to diversify my apps, as my primary preference is a role in IB. However, I did not end up getting any IB/transactional roles lol, and had to accept the ER one. I have heard that while it is hard to move from ER to IB, it is possible. I read some threads on this but am still lost on how I could network/position my profile in a way that can make the transition smoother. I wouldn't mind moving either internally or externally, though I assume an internal move would be more feasible. I understand this might sound stupid to some, but I would really appreciate any advice whatsoever. Thanks a lot in advance!

TL;DR: How can I transition from ER at a BB to IB?
