I’m starting training tomorrow from home and am using a virtual desktop. The virtual desktop is in windows but I’m using it on a Mac and on Mac the alt shortcuts don’t work(ie when you hit alt you can’t navigate through the different tabs on the top) even in the virtual desktop. Does anyone know a fix for this?

Citrix Viewer? You might have to simultaneously tap both CMD and OPTION and that simulates alt.

Yup, and just for others to know the Windows key on the external keyboard they sent corresponds to Command and Alt corresponds to Option -- so you are pressing CMD and Option as far as the Mac sees essentially. You can adjust these keys in Citrix Viewer preferences.

Buy a cheap PC keyboard on Amazon, you should be easily able to get one for ~$15.
