Excel on Mac Air 13 M1. How is running?

Hello everybody,

I have to change my laptop and was intent on buying a Mac Air 13 M1, for reasons I am not here to list. However, one thing I wouldn't want to give up is the flexibility and operability of Excel.

I have recently joined an M&A boutique where I certainly have a computer running on windows for the financial models.

The computer that I would buy remains for personal use but I would find myself several times using it for these types of tasks, as well as for example I would like to be able to practice on similar courses. For this, I would like to have the "almost" same functionality and effectiveness as running excel on Windows.

I read that in the last months and years there have been improvements for a complete (with Office365 if I'm not mistaken) and smoother integration between the Office package and Apple. For this reason, what I would like to ask is if there is still so much difference or if I can run and operate on excel in a similar way as on windows?

Otherwise which model would you recommend having as a personal laptop but with good capabilities in excel and having the same reliability as an apple when it comes to long battery and processor life (budget around 800-1200)

Looking forward to receiving your feedback.

Many thanks in advance

Br,

Pierpaolo

Excel works fine on Mac as well. The biggest problem is the shortcut transition. There are also significantly less shortcuts available. Other than the efficiency of use it seems Mac may suit your needs
