Exit opportunities from capital markets and financing

Hi everyone,

First year UK university student here.

Looking at the hype of working in M&A amongst students it made sense to me to apply to other divisions at top banks such as ECM, DCM, LevFin, Structuring and etc..

However their roles seem to be more boring for me (assuming people who I networked explained everything correctly) and I’m unsure about the exit opportunities.

Could someone that is experienced in the area comment how interesting these roles get in the long-term and what the exit opportunities are as well as the compensation.
