Exit Opps after leaving IB? Seeking Advice

Hi everyone! First time posting but have been a long-time lurker on WSO. Looking to get some advice on my career. I was a first year IB analyst who unfortunately was going to get laid off as I was bottom-bucket in my group (warning signs were there that I was going to be axed..) Because of this I started applying for jobs in the spring and was thankful enough to get a credit role at another bank so I wouldn't have an employment gap on my resume - that being said, I enjoy the wlb I have in this new role but it isn't as exciting as my old gig in IB was... That being said, I am interested in recruiting for a start up in the future but don't know if I am limited now since I am not technically in IB now - do people still recruit when they start a new gig? I took the credit job as I didn't want to have an employment gap and couldn't be picky with this job market. Just thankful I have a job now, but it isn't necessarily what I want to do long-term and I am worried I don't have those same exit opps or will get looks from recruiters as my prior job in IB did. I have thought about interviewing and still staying I am still in IB but feel like its better to be honest that I have this new job instead - idk any thoughts on how to progress?
