Exit Opps from a Pure Boutique/ Advice
Hi Folks,
I am fortunate to have recently landed an IB Analyst position at a boutique bank in NYC - a 20 person shop that has historically completed about 15 M&A deals per year. Think tier three from the WSO forum "Searching for a summer internship" from 2013 - they are fairly concentrated in the tech industry and the typical deal ranges from 20M to 200M - they have done a number of deals to well-known strategic buyers and PE firms based off of their website.
I was curious on exit opportunities from a firm like this as much of WSO focuses on opportunities from top tier banks - in this position, would you continue searching for another gig at a more well known bank, lateral after a year, or simply take the offer. I would like to end up in Middle Market PE in a few years.
Has anyone else been in a similar opportunity and could weigh in, my offer expires in two weeks - thank you for any insight!
