Does finance have the highest expected salary of all careers? I was wondering compared to doctors, lawyers, ect.

Define "expected".
You can make anywhere from $35K to $800K.
I'd say the range is more like $12.00/hour to $3B.
Key word in the title, "salary".
I'd say for a guy just out of an undergraduate program, yes. I can't recall any other salary paying profession giving away that amount of money for a 22 year old. As a lawyer you won't make as much and as a doctor you will be still studying. After some years it varies a lot.
Engineers often have slightly higher starting salaries, but their ceiling is a lot lower.
Law is a crap shoot, if you have some connections, then go with it. Docs have a great gig, yes it took a lot of school but in the long run it is the SAFE play (unless you are a primary). Finance is for gamblers and job security is tough to come by.
Interesting article, however I am sure the graduates are from low ranked schools.

keep in mind once you work for a few years in IBD, PE, HF, your bonus will equal if not far surpass your salary. even MD's may have salaries around $200k but take year end bonuses in the millions.
